The LVRSys™ low voltage regulation
system offers several advantages:

LVRSys™, grid operators can therefore
fall back on several performance classes.
The control cabinets range from 22 kVA (controllable cable junction box) to 630 kVA (regulation of the entire low voltage grid, equivalent to a controllable distribution transformer).
Individual strings, for example agricultural
operations, and entire local grids
can thus be safely regulated.
Robust operating principle
The regulating principle of the LVRSys™ is based on a linear voltage regulator. By coupling and uncoupling two transformers with a selected transfer ratio, the output voltage can be regulated in steps. The standard regulation range is ± 6 % to ± 10 %.
The control signals for the tap changer are generated by thyristor driver circuits that connect the thyristors intelligently. By monitoring the magnetic flux in the transformers, the transformers can be switched without voltage dips, current increases and without generating harmonics.
Plug and Play – easy installation and maintenance
The low voltage regulation systems for outdoor installation are delivered with concrete bases. For indoor use, robust steel bases are also available. The low voltage cables are connected through box terminals (Connection cross-section 50 up to 240 mm²).
Each installation has a manual bypass switch with integrated NH-fuses. It is thus possible to service the systems with the power supply voltage free.
The regulator measures the output voltage and phases it in case of overvoltage or undervoltage in the voltage tolerance bands. Any subsequent parametrisation of grid impedance results in a new voltage regulation value.
The voltage in the grid strings can be
precisely calculated from the measured line current and the parametrised grid impedance. Regulation can thus be optimised without communication devices.

Cost-effective optimisation of low
Uneven distribution of load and feedin
results in voltage spread. In many
cases, power consumption and return
at the busbar virtually cancel each
other out, meaning central regulation
directly at the busbar cannot generate
an appropriate controlled value.
Costly communication lines and external
voltage readings would have to be
integrated into the scheme.
It is much more effective to change
the voltage tap of the distribution
transformer and install an LVRSys™
regulation system. The busbar voltage
can, for example, be permanently set
to 420 V. This counteracts the voltage
drop from the loads. The string with a
feeder is equipped with an LVRSys™,
also allowing optimal voltage ratios
to be obtained.
